About Catholic Women Association (CWA)
Catholic Women Association (CWA) is an association of catholic lay women founded in the year 1980 during the visit of Pope John II to Kenya under the guidance of the late Servant of God Cardinal Maurice Otunga. Its main goal is to enhance spiritual growth of Catholic Women and enable them participate fully and more effectively in evangelization and promoting socio-economic well-being among members. Vision: To seek and bear witness to Christ committed to holistic development of families being the first Christian church. Patron Saint: St. Monica.
Our Activities
- Enhancing spiritual growth through praying together in meetings, retreats, recollections, and seminars
- Church development at all levels - SCC, Parish, Deanery and Archdiocese
- Helping the needy and the sick
- Bringing women together for effective participation in church development
- Harvest month activities in October - bringing food to assist needy members
- Visiting and praying with the needy within the parish
- Working with church leadership in apostolic work
